Windows Phone Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for enthusiasts and power users of Windows Phone OS. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have horrible default ringtone, which is marked as "in ROM" as can be seen in the media file's properties, so normal file managers don't allow me to rename it (and swap with a good ringtone). I can set a custom ringtone in options, but the phone tends to reset it to default.

How do I override this restriction?

I couldn't find any appropriate tags for my question. I thought of rom, file-property, windows-mobile-6-1. – user1306322 Dec 21 '12 at 11:03
Hi, this site deals with Windows Phone and not Windows Mobile. Perhaps you will have better luck on forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=522 – row1 Dec 22 '12 at 7:26
