When adding an exchange email account, I got an error about the certificate not matching or being verified (something along that line). I was able to continue, but I thin got an error saying that I needed to install a personal certificate.

I have had this account setup on my phone before but it started throwing an error on sync (error not certificate related), the support on Microsofts site suggested removing and re-adding the account to correct the error, which is why i am in this spot.

Even if i uncheck us SSL i still get the error. I remember there being some issue with SSL when i first added the account and i thought unchecking the use SSL was the fix for it.

Anyone have any insight?

  • I think "you need a personal certificate to connect to this server", if there was a number i can't remember. I can't replicate the issue anymore. Shortly after i posted the problem seemed to correct itself and is working fine right now. – jwoncall Jul 7 '14 at 13:01
