So, after some research, the short answer is: you will get the Denim update when it's available for your device. Being on the Developer Preview programme does not delay or prevent the update.
But if you're running a Dev Preview version of the OS, you may have Denim already but not know it!
Causes of confusion
The previous update, Cyan, was delayed for Dev ...
I know this is late, but as of September 2015, this problem persists.
So here is what i use as a fix.
Connect the phone to the PC and browse to the folder where you have music that doesnt show up in the WP music app. Create a new folder at this location (keep it empty, you just have to create a new folder) on the PC, and then go up one folder. At this ...
Whilst the live tile has a big warning icon, and a warning saying the app is no longer available, you can set it up again by going to settings > call+SMS filter (near the bottom), and set it up again, and no more spam calls or texts
Unfortunately, unless Microsoft or Verizon publically state an exact date, "Early 2015" is the best information we have.
Obviously, this can mean anywhere between January to March but these kinds of updates require a lot of co-operation between Microsoft and Verizon, and there's a lot of politics involved.
The delay in frustrating, I know, but at least the ...
Disable Preview for Developers.
Check for updates.
Install the Lumia Denim update.
Re-enable Developer Preview.
You just have to uncheck it in the Preview for Developers app. No need to restart your phone or anything.
Why does this work?
The Lumia Denim update is being pushed out via the default update servers. The Dev Preview servers doesn'...
The answer depends on where you bought your 930 from. It's not even available in the US - its equivalent there is the Lumia Icon.
You can figure out where your phone came from by looking at the details in Settings → extras+info. Specifically, look at "Manufacturer Name" and "Mobile Operator". For instance, on my Lumia 920 bought in Estonia, ...
As Apoorv mentioned you could try and make a reset. But before that you should:
Check if there is another update available. Including installing and running Upgrade Advisor from Store.
Remember to have backup activated before you do.
Take note that there are two kinds of resets that you could do: Hard and Soft (always try soft first). You can read how to do ...
Playing games uses a lot of processing power, which in turn generates excess heat; Similarly, some webpages use a lot of client side scripting that can use a lot of processing power.
From what you've said, it may well be the case that you're seeing a "normal" amount of heat generated. If you're concerned, you could pop by you local friendly service centre, ...
I have a Lumia 521 and this works perfectly for me.
Make sure that WhatsApp is allowed to run in the background.
Go to Settings -> Battery Saver -> Usage -> WhatsApp
Make sure "Allow app to run in the background" is set to "On"
If you have Battery Saver enabled, you may and need to use WhatsApp Web when the phone is in Battery Saver mode, you may also want ...
I think I finally find out (but can't confirm myself at the moment).
Looks like Lumia 830 was released with a half baked Denim Firmware Update.
To be allowed to install Lumia Camera 5 on Lumia 830 it need to be updated at least to O.S. version 8.10.14226.359 currently unavailable even trough Dev Preview.
Yesterday my phone finally receive an ...
Please note that I'm posting this answer assuming that your ambiguous statement "it doesn't give me the option to update" means that you go to Settings->Phone Update and every time you check it tells you that your phone is up to date.
First go to this website and see if the update is available for your phone country variant. If it's not, the only things you ...
I know this an old question, but I stumble upon the same issue and the below steps addressed the bug/ shortcoming in Xbox music app.
On a Windows Phone 8.1 perform the below steps
In Batter Saver, locate Music and tap on it.
Ensure Both 'Allow app to run in the background' is On and 'Allow
this app to run in the background even when Battery Saver' is ...
Remember that for now the Dev Preview will only update your phone to the latest version of Windows Phone OS, not the Nokia-specific Updates like Cyan or Denim. You'll get those as soon as they are officially released for your phone. (I hear this will change in the near future, though. Then the firmware updates for Lumia phones should be included.)
This is a known bug, it says you have Cyan while you actually have Denim. To make sure, switch off developer preview, restart the phone and check again, you will see it is Denim now, turn the DP on again, it will be back to Cyan.
Use Lumia software recovery tool https://download-fds.webapps.microsoft.com/supportFiles/phones/files/recovery/LumiaSoftwareRecoveryToolInstaller.exe to reinstall the firmware on your phone from the scratch. Do a backup first.
Folders are not a feature of the Lumia Denim firmware but are introduced with the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Check if your OS version matches on of these:
