I think the crux of what you want to know is: When should one use Outlook, and when Hotmail? If your primary concern is getting your web hotmail.com or outlook.com email account synced, then you can choose either. Hotmail.com has been upgraded and re-branded to Outlook.com. However, the brand name Outlook is more than just the web client outlook.com. ...

Windows phone 8.1 does not support this feature. Hence if you are using WP8.1 there is no way to attach a document in a reply. Only photos are supported. The only way to send a document via mail is to share it from Files app or from Office. But as you said it will create a new thread. With Windows10-Mobile it is now possible to attach a document in a reply....

It is not possible to delete the Microsoft account that was used to set up your phone. You will need to reset your phone and set it up again with another account. Which will lose all your apps, music, etc. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in Windows 10 for phones.

Can you change the settings yourself. If so, you can follow this guide: How to Set Up and Manage Email Sync on Windows Phone 8. In the settings you cannot only set the interval at which the account should be synced (every 30 or 60 minutes for example) but also from which moment on the mail should be retrieved. For example: from the past 3 or 7 days, last ...

I have the same behaviour. But the JPG attachments are also unable to open. If I click to forward the email, I can open the attachments without any problem. It's simply a bug.

You can accomplish seeing sub-folder notifications with Windows 10 Mobile with some outlook rule tricks. One way is by simply editing the outlook rule used to move the email to a sub-folder. The option you want is "display a Desktop Alert." While this does make the rule client-only and thus only works when Outlook is running, it is a workaround. ...

The contacts are stored locally on your device, however there isn't a "phone only" address book. Contacts are kept synchronised with your Live account (or any other account that supports SyncML, such as Google, or if you have one, Exchange Server - or anything that can pretend to be one), so you can choose which cloud service you prefer to use to back up ...

No, there is (currently, which I think includes the upcoming Windows Phone 8 version of the OS) no option that enables you to do what you want with selective notification sounds for emails based on the content or other properties of a received email. When volume is off, it is off.

I don't think you can delete events en masse on your phone. The only way to wipe a calendar of all events is to delete and recreate it. To do so, follow these steps: Log in to https://calendar.live.com Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select Options Click on the calendar you want to wipe In the top bar, click Delete, then confirm you want ...

The reason you see this happens is because your phone only syncs your pictures to OneDrive when it takes them. Once you take a picture it is saved locally. At the phone's earliest convenience, it will upload the file to OneDrive. Changes to your pictures in OneDrive do not sync back to your phone. Also if you delete a photo from your phone, the copy in ...

The default sync speed is "based on my usage", which can leave it a long while before it syncs back. I'd suggest changing the pc to synchronise "as items arrive" (assuming on power, with non metered internet connection); the phone we'll them notice the change a lot quicker...

My wife had this happen to her, shortly after an update. After a day or so it started working again. I wouldn't do a hard reset. Maybe a soft reset tho if it still persists. Also, you can try Wifi vs Cell signal.

You cannot delete primary account. If outlook account is your primary account on phone then factory reset is the only option for you. As per the Windows service status website, outlook currently has a issues with IMAP and POP users. Web access is working fine at the moment. Check the status here: https://portal.office.com/servicestatus

Unfortunately, that feature is currently not available. You could always try third party applications. I use an app called TinyDo. You are able to create categories for tasks. Which is very handy if you need to be able to sort your tasks (work, school, home, etc.) It stays very true to the Metro design language, however it does not have notifications of ...
